"Kids: they dance before they learn there is anything that isn't music."
~ William Stafford

The kids from our Tweens K-pop class here at CJ recently made an appearance on oktoLIVE!

A live TV show that focuses on today’s kids and youths. Each episode of oktoLIVE features performances as part of their programme lineup, and our Tweens K-pop class students were invited as guest performers for Episode 17 of the show.

With only slightly more than a week’s time for preparation, the kids quickly got down to rehearsals!

Rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals!
Listening attentively to Jojo!
The kids prepared a short dance item of 2 popular K-Pop songs, both coming from vastly different genres: Apink’s “Mr Chu” and GD and Taeyang’s “Good Boy”. Switching from a sweet, light-hearted vibe into a more swag, hiphop mood, the kids got to show off different sides of themselves within the short span of the performance.
Mr Chu~~
Here come the "Good Boy" ;)
Despite dancing to K-Pop choreography, we hoped the kids were able to showcase the basic foundations in dance that they’ve acquired over the past few months here at CJ! Most importantly, we hoped for them to be able to spread the fun and enjoyment they get from dancing, and to express their love for dance.

We are so happy and proud of our CJ kids for pulling through with a successful performance, despite it being their first time dancing before cameras, and on National TV to boot! This entire experience was a first for our kids, and their excitement, mixed in with nerves, was a really heartwarming sight to witness.
The kids couldn't contain their excitement in front of the cameras!
Camera's ready. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...!
Thank you Riana for preparing the dance item and getting the kids ready! We're also thankful to all the parents who took time off from work to be a part of this; contributing costume ideas, driving the kids around for rehearsals, helping with hair and makeup, and just generally being really cooperative and supportive!

Carmen and Joanne (Megan's Mummy) working hard on the girls make-up!
Lastly, thank you oktoLIVE for giving our kids this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We believe that they enjoyed themselves and that this is an experience they won't be forgetting anytime soon!
